Ruger The Movie Star

Working with Cathie, Ruger and her team (Jill Elizabeth Bragg) at Bobcat Farm was a delight. As the director of the film, I knew we needed a horse that could land their marks in front of a film crew and be intimidating in one scene and compassionate in another; Ruger nailed every mark, direction and nuance that we needed. Equally important, with Cathie and her team, we knew everyone (including Ruger) was safe and treated with respect.

In the movie, our lead actor needs to ride a horse for the first time and do it bareback. Eugene Cordero (lead actor) did not have horse experience and was going to learn how to ride a horse bareback for the scene. Upon my first meeting with Cathie at Bobcat Farm, I mentioned I had never ridden a horse. Without missing a beat, she walked me to the pen, gave me a helmet, and within minutes I was riding Ruger bareback. It was exhilarating to be on a horse and I knew this was the perfect team for our movie. I felt Cathie and Ruger were in complete control and I was along for the ride. Eugene trained with Cathie at Bobcat Farm and had a great experience as well.

I would highly recommend working with Cathie and her team again; and hope I get a chance to visit Ruger next time I am in Massachusetts. Trailer for movie - https://www.boliomovie.com/
