Farm call = travel rate

When I travel an hour to your place, there is a two hour minimum@ $100.00 per hour.  So $200.00

for two hours of me working with you and your horse/horses. plus a $100.00 farm call.

Your total will be $300.00 If you are only a half hour away total is $250.00

Price of Diesel Fuel, and many hours away from home has me rethinking  traveling off farm as much as I used to. If you do the driving and come to me, it will be less expensive for you.

If you are one and a half hours away, I need a minimum of 4 hours of work.

If you are 2 hours away, I need 5 hours of work, as I will be on the road for over 4 hours of just drive time alone.

You can split sessions with a friend/co-boarder.

(Payments can be made if that will help you out).

Farm Call = Travel time and gas. (rates below)

Clients an hour away or less I  require a  non refundable unless it rains and you dont have an indoor

$100.00 deposit to hold your day/time.

Check or money order made out to Cathie Hatrick-Anderson,

or paypal (paypal add $10.00 for fees) link above.

Clients over an hour away require $200  non refundable unless it rains and you dont have an indoor Deposit check or money order made out to my name, or paypal link above.

 Cathie Hatrick-Anderson

270 Mendon Street, Upton MA 01568

(This non refundable deposit is required as I have blocked out a half day or entire day to come to you, thus I did not schedule other jobs and will not have any income that day).

If it rains, no indoor or is below freezing I'll apply the deposit to an alternate date.

Cancellations!

Because of the nature of my job, traveling throughout New England,

I require a 72 hour notice (yes that is 3 whole days) if you need to cancel your lessons/ training session, this needs to be done by telephone (508) 479-5266  to avoid a cancellation fee (price of your lesson)

Cancellation fee for $100.00 1 hour truck in to my farm is $100.00 unless you give me three days notice.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment as I have a busy schedule. If you are late for your appointment we will still have to end at our appointed time, don't cheat yourself.

Please CALL or TEXT do NOT e-mail me with changes or cancellations. I do NOT have a secretary at my computer. I will not get a message from facebook when I am on the road or outside working with horses.

I appreciate your business and I arrive promptly at the time we have scheduled.  If I run more than 10 minutes late, which is rare, I will phone you. I know you have a busy schedule.

If you cancel for any personal reason, even with the 72 hour notice, I'll bet I still won't find someone to take your 10:00 am appointment on Thursday in NH or 1:00pm spot on Friday afternoon in CT  or at my place at your particular hour time slot.

I do understand things happen but please understand. I have the same endless bills as you do. Being self employed has it's joys but it also has the down side of jumping through hoops when people cancel, countless hours in early morning or late night to answer e-mails as well as phone time to answer training questions. Buying my own health insurance, liability insurance, truck and trailer up keep and all the bills you have, as well as putting aside money in the good weather to pay my taxes. It can get lean in the Winter. I am not complaining I love my job, just want folks to know It's not all gravy.

I love a day off but it does not get the bills paid. As a horse owner I know you are aware of how much time daily horse care takes.

My husband and I are the only farm hands taking care of all the chores related to our own horses and farm amimals. We love it! But it makes for long days. Working on our small farm, we raise chickens and have four gardens we maintain.

You can share a session with another boarder/friend. You will both get a private hour, unless you need two. and your friend just one. You can split the farm call between participants

One hour away from my Upton MA home = $100.00 farm call for you.

(someone thought the farm call was double that since it was an hour there and an hour back.

No. it's not double. Two hours in my truck means  $100.00 farm call for you).

45 minutes away =$ 75.00 farm call

30 minutes away = $50.00 farm call

20-25 minutes away $35.00 farm call

15 minutes $30.00 farm call

Further distances....

1 hour and 15 minutes = $140.00 farm call.

1 and 30 minutes  = $170.00 farm call for you.

2 hours away = $250.00 farm call for you.

Two hours away is actually 4 plus hours in my truck and that does not inlcude 4 or 5 hours of training. That's a very long day

away from my farm where I could easily book a day of lessons and never have to leave.

If you are an hour from me, your two hour session means

4 hours out of my day. That does not include stopping for gas, lunch.

(For comparison, vets that are 20 minutes from me charge a $75.00 for a non emergency farm call)

Although I am first and foremost a horse trainer. I am a licensed by the state of MA as an instructor. (You could say I am over qualified as an instructor).  I carry liability insurance with Farm Family. Please check out my testimonial page. (You will get your moneys worth) I gladly provide follow up phone support, to answer questions, trouble shoot problems before or after our visit at no charge.

A friend told me that her husband asked what does Cathie do for a living? She responded "She's a horse trainer. He replied, "No, what's her REAL job" She replied, "That is her real job" I thought it odd since I have been doing this for over 30 years but she said so many trainers and instructors have other jobs and do training/teaching on the side. Maybe that's why people do not think about it too much when they cancel because something better came up, shopping in Boston, or a great beach day. This is why I have had to make my cancellation policy.

Prices subject to change... please call for quotes if update is over a year old .
